MICROTEACHING EXPERIENCE





As part of B. Ed curriculum, i got skill of explaining, and skill of using black board as my microteaching skills to be performed. It was a great oppurtunity for me to improve these skills. It helped to enhance my teaching in a classroom environment.

Microteaching is a teacher training technique that allows teacher candidates to practice and refine their teaching skills in a controlled, supportive environment. It involves teaching a short lesson, usually lasting 5-10 minutes, to a small group of peers or students, followed by feedback and reflection.

In skill of explaining, i have got the poem The Village Blacksmith. The skill of explaining is one of the most important aspects of effective micro-teaching. It’s simply the expertise of a teacher that enables them to engage in effective communication with their students. This ensures that students comprehend the subject being taught without any difficulty. The skill requires excellent communication skills. Practising this skill in a classroom environment reduced my fear and anxiety and helped to enhance my explaining skills.

For skill of using black board, i got question tags as topic to teach.  The skill of blackboard writing refers to the ability of any teacher to write on traditional blackboards to better explain any particular concept to the students. The skill of blackboard writing is a blackboard skill that every teacher ought to acquire. The blackboard skills of writing are one of the skills in microteaching methodology and considered to be an essential part of the school curriculum. This is because through the help of the blackboard it becomes possible for teachers to provide better understanding regarding a topic to the students. At the same time it also makes it easier for the students to grasp the topic at hand, when simultaneously being taught verbally and by using the blackboard. It is important to highlight that the skill of blackboard writing, requires for a teacher to bring clearness in perception for the students. This is because only through the correct use of blackboard skill will it be possible for the teachers to display notes and diagrams during a lesson that is legible and can be understood. It is very important for teachers to make sure that the notes that they are writing on the blackboard is legible for the students. Besides the maintenance of legibility, it also becomes important for the teacher to take into consideration the size and alignment along with the utilisation of space correctly. The blackboard skills are used to give clarity about the topic that is being taught in the class and it gives a visual representation to the students. Using a blackboard in a useful manner would make it easier for the students to grasp the topic discussed in the class.  It was a great oppurtunity for me to enhance my blackboard skills. It helped me to understand my mistakes and to rectify that in a proper way.

Through performing microteaching, lot of improvements came to me as a teacher. It was a great oppurtunity to identify my mistakes and make improvements to rectify those mistakes.

SECOND PHASE TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 2

Week 3 starts from 11/112024. On this week I started a new chapter named "The Nightingale and the Rose". For introducing the lesson, I have shown a video of Nightingale and nature. The seemed more intrested, and curious to learn the story. Next day also, the students participated ain the whole class discussions  recalling details of the previous class. Overall it was a pleasant and beautiful week for me. 14/11/2024 CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATIONS As part of childrens day we student teachers gifted sweets to our beloved children. A small programme was organised in the school. Teaching practice Week 8

On 15/10/2024 Nadeem sir came to observe my class as second observation. To fever, I was not confident to take the class my voice is lesson sound but I manage to take the class as much as possible. after the class are sir gave both positive and negative feedbacks which was good for me. He suggested me to improve my time management after that I also feel that there are a lot to spaces to improve in my teaching I hope that I would improve all that as much as earlier. On16/10/2024, we planned to conduct a conscientisation program given by the college on the schools. On 18/10/2024 I have taken ICT class in 8th standard. While using ICT the students seemed more engaged and intrested. And I was also more confident enough to use interactive whiteboard effectively.
