A field visit to Arts and Craft Village, Vellar
As part of B. Ed curriculum, we got an oppurtunity to visit Art and Craft Village, Vellar. It was a memorable experience for me and my friends. The village offered a unique insight into the craftsmanship and rich cultural legacy of Indian artisans. There we observed a variety of exhibits featuring handmade crafts such as pottery, woodwork, bamboo weaving, and traditional paintings. This hands-on experience sparked creativity and allowed students to appreciate the skill and effort behind each craft. We were fascinated by the precision required in each step and gained a deeper understanding of the artisans' dedication to preserving these traditions. The field trip provided insights into the cultural history and significance of each craft. The visit to Vellar Art and Craft Village was a memorable experience, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world cultural heritage. It emphasized the significance of art in everyday life and encouraged students to appreciate and support local artisans. Upon reaching the Vellar Art and Craft Village, we were struck by the beauty of the surroundings, which blended Kerala’s traditional architecture with vibrant artistic installations. The tranquil environment set the perfect tone for exploring various art forms.
