A field visit to Arts and Craft Village, Vellar

 





As part of B. Ed curriculum, we got an oppurtunity to visit Art and Craft Village, Vellar. It was a memorable experience for me and my friends. The village offered a unique insight into the craftsmanship and rich cultural legacy of Indian artisans. There we observed a variety of exhibits featuring handmade crafts such as pottery, woodwork, bamboo weaving, and traditional paintings. This hands-on experience sparked creativity and allowed students to appreciate the skill and effort behind each craft. We were fascinated by the precision required in each step and gained a deeper understanding of the artisans' dedication to preserving these traditions. The field trip provided insights into the cultural history and significance of each craft. The visit to Vellar Art and Craft Village was a memorable experience, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world cultural heritage. It emphasized the significance of art in everyday life and encouraged students to appreciate and support local artisans. The field trip underscored the need to preserve these crafts, inspiring students to take an active role in promoting cultural heritage in their communities. The primary objective of the field trip to Vellar Art and Craft Village was to immerse students in the world of Indian arts and crafts, offering them firsthand experience of traditional and contemporary artistry. This visit aimed to foster an appreciation for cultural heritage, inspire creativity, and provide an understanding of the dedication and skill that go into preserving these traditions. Through direct engagement with artisans, the trip sought to bridge the gap between theoretical classroom learning and practical knowledge, helping students to connect deeply with India's rich artistic heritage.

Upon reaching the Vellar Art and Craft Village, we were struck by the beauty of the surroundings, which blended Kerala’s traditional architecture with vibrant artistic installations. The tranquil environment set the perfect tone for exploring various art forms.

This field trip proved to be an invaluable learning experience, leaving students inspired by the intricate beauty of traditional crafts. They walked away with a newfound respect for the artisans’ skills and a deeper appreciation for the cultural heritage embedded in each craft. Overall it provided a great experience to me and my friends.

SECOND PHASE TEACHING PRACTICE WEEK 2

Week 3 starts from 11/112024. On this week I started a new chapter named "The Nightingale and the Rose". For introducing the lesson, I have shown a video of Nightingale and nature. The seemed more intrested, and curious to learn the story. Next day also, the students participated ain the whole class discussions  recalling details of the previous class. Overall it was a pleasant and beautiful week for me. 14/11/2024 CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATIONS As part of childrens day we student teachers gifted sweets to our beloved children. A small programme was organised in the school. Teaching practice Week 8

On 15/10/2024 Nadeem sir came to observe my class as second observation. To fever, I was not confident to take the class my voice is lesson sound but I manage to take the class as much as possible. after the class are sir gave both positive and negative feedbacks which was good for me. He suggested me to improve my time management after that I also feel that there are a lot to spaces to improve in my teaching I hope that I would improve all that as much as earlier. On16/10/2024, we planned to conduct a conscientisation program given by the college on the schools. On 18/10/2024 I have taken ICT class in 8th standard. While using ICT the students seemed more engaged and intrested. And I was also more confident enough to use interactive whiteboard effectively.
